California food poisoning expert witnesses evaluate suspected foodborne illness in hospitals and public health settings across the state. They often are infectious disease physicians, gastroenterologists, microbiologists, or epidemiologists with experience in California’s large produce and restaurant supply chains. Many have ties to UC medical centers and county health departments. They assess pathogen identification, outbreak source, sanitation practices, and resulting injuries.
