His work in the industry has focused on customary practices, standard of care, tractor-trailers, and compliance and safety training and practices for drivers, motor carriers, warehouses and forklifts. He received his certificate in traffic & transportation law & management from the University of Virginia and is active in his field as a member of the Association of Transportation Law Professionals and the Cardinal Criminal Justice Academy. This Tennessee based expert entered the waste management industry in 1988, joining the old Browning-Ferris Industries as a District Manager of Environmental, Safety and Health for the Nashville District, covering 22,500 square miles. He was responsible for hiring, training, risk management, claims and compliance with OSHA, DOT and EPA regulations. He later became the Director of Solid Waste for the city of Franklin, TN, where he oversaw the conception and completion of a Municipal Services Complex that included a new 500-ton per day transfer station and 20,000 square foot operations center. He has been a member of the Solid Waste Association of North America for almost twenty years, and is certified to teach in Collections, Transfer Station, Recycling, Integrated Solid Waste Management and Principals of Solid Waste Management. He has written or edited numerous textbooks for the organization.

This highly qualified mechanical engineer earned his BS in Mechanical Engineering from City College of New York, his MS in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and his PhD from the University of Connecticut. He has been formally trained in a number of engineering disciplines, including accident investigation and labels/warnings/failure to warn instructions. He belongs to a number of highly prestigious societies in the engineering field, including the International Code Committee and the American Society of Safety Engineers. Additionally, he possesses in-depth knowledge to reach the root cause of a wide range of accidents and failures in the following areas: turbines, human performance, operator training, man-machine interface, material science, structures, statics, dynamics, pneumatics, hydraulics, lubrication, fire protection sprinkler systems, elevators, cranes, hoists, escalators, aerial platforms, fork lifts, warning labels and instructions, failure to warn, OSHA standards and requirements, heat transfer and thermodynamics. This expert currently serves as an engineering consultant.
