Civil Engineering Expert Witnesses in Texas

This expert has been working with floating drilling and production vessels for over 40 years. He completed his undergraduate studies in Civil Engineering in Hong Kong prior to earning an M.S. and Ph.D. in Structural Engineering from the University of Houston. He began his career as a Design Engineer and Computer Specialist with The Offshore Company, where for 6 years he performed analyses for the design and operation of floating drilling vessels, including conducting mooring and riser analyses. He then joined Exxon's upstream research affiliate Exxon Production Research Company, where he worked for 22 years. Currently, this expert is a Technical Advisor for a private offshore industry consulting group, as well as an independent consultant to the offshore industry. Some of his activities in these roles have included writing mooring standards for Chevron, revising the American Bureau of Shipping Guidance Notes on Application of Fiber Rope for Offshore Mooring, and directing a joint industry project on Arctic mooring systems. He has served as a mooring expert in 7 litigation processes concerning mooring failures.

This qualified expert earned his BS in Civil Engineering from Southern University A&M and is active in his field as a member of professional organizations such as the Institute of Transportation Engineers, the National Society of Black Engineers, and the American Society of Civil Engineers. He has held several Civil Engineering positions at companies such as Klotz Association and Burk-Kleinpeter, to more senior level engineer project coordinator positions at Parsons Brinckerhoff Construction Services and EJES Inc. Currently, he is a Senior Project Manager at a project manageer that offers engineering and construction management professional services.

He received his BS in civil engineering from the University of Kansas before earning his MEng in structural engineering from Texas A&M University. He is a certified professional engineer in 5 states and holds several other structural engineering certifications. He is active in his field as a member of the Structural Engineering Association of Texas and the Building Envelope Enclosure Council. His former positions include project manager for CPH Structural Engineering and adjunct professor at the University of Houston. Currently, this expert is an adjunct professor in construction science at a well-known university in Texas, as well as the manager and principal of a structural engineering firm in Texas.
