This expert has been a licensed, practicing attorney since 1987. He regularly practices in both Oregon and Washington state, where he has represented numerous lending institutions, private lenders, small and large businesses, and individuals. His practice has spanned numerous commercial and business areas such as real estate transactions, commercial lending, bankruptcy, and litigation, among others. He is a regular speaker at Continuing Legal Education events in Oregon and Washington on these and other topics. He has also testified as an expert witness in state and federal courts.

He received his BBA in accounting from the University of Hawaii and is a certified consumer credit executive (CCCE) by the Society of Certified Credit Executives. In this role, he led a 20 member call center team and was responsible for a $336 million consumer and commercial credit portfolio. He continued on to serve in a variety of leadership roles in credit and collections. He currently serves as Global Credit and Collections manager for an international audio manufacturing company, where he leads the US and UK AR/credit team responsible for AR, credit, collections, credit hold queue, financial analysis, DSO control and loss prevention. He is a member of the executive credit team and the lead negotiator on global collections and international credit sales.

This expert attended Yakima Valley College and has numerous other college credits in various areas of study associated with transportation and highway maintenance. He has experience and extensive knowledge in Deicer Products, Specifications, Testing and Use, and The Design and Build of Liquid Deicer Manufacturing Systems. He also has experience and knowledge in equipment operations and the management of same. This expert was one of the four Federal Highways Ice Warriors whose duty was to use their expertise on a nationwide basis to assist agencies. He has also published numerous articles on his work. He was also the director of the Office of Residential Care Facilities for the Department of Housing and Urban Development and senior vice president at Walker & Dunlop. He is currently the principal of a finance and valuation services company based in Nevada, where he provides analysis related to complicated financial issues for a variety of clients.

He earned his BA in business administration from the University of Miami and his JD from the University of Michigan Law School. While in private practice, he participated in cases involving Lehman Brothers and Trump Hotel & Casino Resorts. He then transitioned to academia, serving as an associate professor of law at Lewis & Clark Law School. During the 2018-2019 academic year, this expert was a Fulbright Schuman Scholar and served as a visiting professor at the University of Oxford Law School. Currently, he is a professor of law and the co-director of the Center for Business Law & Innovation at a law school in Oregon, as well as the editor-in-chief for a major law publication.
