This expert has over 15 years of experience in the field of general surgery. She earned her BS and MD from the University of Iowa before completing an internship in general surgery at the University of Utah and a residency in general surgery at the University of Iowa. She is board certified in general surgery and active in her field as a member of the American College of Surgeons. She has formerly served as a surgeon at various hospitals across Iowa. This expert is currently the vice chair of the department of surgery, a faculty member in the trauma services department, and a member of the clinical faculty of general surgery at a medical center in Iowa.

This highly qualified expert earned his MD from Harvard Medical school and completed his internship and residency at Johns Hopkins in general surgery. This expert then went on to complete a residency at Stanford University in cardiothoracic surgery, and completed his research fellowship at Baylor. Additionally, this expert is active within his field as a member of numerous societies including The Thoracic Surgery Residents Association, The American Medical Association, The American Association of Medical Colleges, and The International Society for Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery. She received her BA from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, before going on to get her MD at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center- San Antonio. She completed a general surgery residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and then completed a research fellowship in the department of pediatric surgery at the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. She then completed her clinical fellowship in critical care at Washington University. She is an active contributor to her field with numerous publications and several presentations and is a member of multiple organizations, including, the Society of Critical Care Medicine, the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma and the Association of Women Surgeons. She formerly served as a shift physician for Omaha EMS and currently serves as an professor in the department of general surgery, trauma, critical care and emergency surgery at a university in Nebraska. Clinically, she serves as the director of emergency general surgery, trauma and critical care at a university-affiliated medical center.
