This expert's career in the aviation industry spans 37 years and has included work in turbine power plant, aircraft overhaul and component repair and overhaul. He has performed risk assessment for the insurance industry and both corporate and business aircraft owners have utilized his talents. He has received many awards from the Federal Aviation Administration while maintaining a staff position with the Transportation Safety Institute. He is a graduate of Embry Riddle Aeronautical University with a Bachelor of Professional Aeronautics. This expert has over 40 years of claims experience, both as an adjuster and then as an in-house attorney advising adjusters on the proper standard of care in claims handling. He has represented numerous bad faith plaintiffs, and he also established the errors & omissions adjusting practices and auditing procedures for a major insurance company. The expert spent over 6 years as AIG's Western Zone Claims Council and 14 years as Executive Managing Attorney for USAA. He is now retired and acts as an insurance bad faith advisor.

This expert specializes in electrical engineering issues, and has performed numerous investigations into fires caused/allegedly caused by electrical issues. His experience includes evaluation of electronics products and their failure modes to determine whether they adhered to relevant safety standards, including those established by Underwriters Laboratories and the Canadian Standards Association. He has also evaluated products and components for structural wiring compliance with the National Electric Code. His projects have included a wide array of products and components, including but not limited to electronics, appliances, HVAC/R, residential and commercial wiring, and battery failure analysis, with an emphasis on lithium ion battery chemistry. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in multiple states, and holds a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator certification.

This expert has over 30 years experience as an insurance claim adjuster specializing in helping clients manage residential and commercial insurance claims after natural disasters or fires damage their property. He is a graduate of University of Central Oklahoma and a Certified Property Manager (CPM) with the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM). He is licensed in 11 states. He is currently the Regional Director at a public insurance adjusting company where he oversees Commercial Insurance Claims, Business Owner Insurance Claims, Risk Management, Recovery from Natural Disaster and Property loss, Commercial Property Re-positioning, and Homeowner Insurance Claim.

This expert began his career in underwriting in the 1960's, managing a regional general agency with broad underwriting authority specializing in property real and personal coverage, running the gamut from simple auto and homeowners’ policies to complex property, inland marine, manufacturer’s output and ocean marine policies. When he sold his agency in 1988, he had 60 employees and annual revenues in excess of $10,000,000. His career also includes a wealth of claims experience, personally having draft issuing authority to settle claims for a number of different insurance carriers. He currently manages a consultancy dedicated to standard of care issues special realationships underwriting and claims handling issues.

He received his BS in civil engineering from the University of Kansas before earning his MEng in structural engineering from Texas A&M University. He is a certified professional engineer in 5 states and holds several other structural engineering certifications. He is active in his field as a member of the Structural Engineering Association of Texas and the Building Envelope Enclosure Council. His former positions include project manager for CPH Structural Engineering and adjunct professor at the University of Houston. Currently, this expert is an adjunct professor in construction science at a well-known university in Texas, as well as the manager and principal of a structural engineering firm in Texas.

He is a licensed risk manager by the Texas Department of Insurance and is active in his field as a member of several professional organizations including the American Association of Insurance Management Consultants and the Professional Risk Managers International Association.
