Michigan firearms expert witnesses analyze weapon function, handling, and ballistic evidence for matters arising across the state. Many are former law enforcement armorers, firearms instructors, range safety officers, or forensic analysts with experience supporting Michigan State Police investigations and Detroit-area casework. They commonly evaluate firearm operability, discharge distance, toolmarks, ammunition performance, and safe storage practices.
