Toxicology Expert Witnesses in Tennessee

This expert has written numerous textbooks, research papers, technical and non-technical books and pamphlets relating to chemical testing of textiles. He has over 35 patents and received the Research & Development 100 award as one of the 100 best patents in the world. Additionally, there have been many extension and related activities, such as presented papers, conferences, courses during his career. Additionally, he has been part of many university committees, and is Professor Emeritus at a well-known university.

This expert in toxicology had a 22-year career in regulatory positions at the Food and Drug Administration. The expert joined the FDA in 1977 and served as the Special Assistant to the Director of the Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition and as the Director of Division of Toxicological Research. Following retirement from Federal service, he was also the State Toxicologist, Chemical Terrorism Laboratory Director, and State Counterterrorism Coordinator working within the Alabama Department of Public Health. He has a B.S. in Biology from Wake Forest University, an M.S. in Physiology from West Virginia University, and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from West Virginia University. The expert also later earned an M.S. in Applied Human Behavior from Johns Hopkins University, where he completed a Fellowship in Organizational Development and Community Systems. He is a Member of the American College of Toxicology, the National Environmental Health Association, and the Society for Applied Spectroscopy. The expert left his FDA position at the end of 1999 and his Alabama Department of Health role in early 2010.

This highly-qualified expert has her Masters, PhD and postdoctoral training in the area of environmental toxicology. She continues to work in this area, focusing primarily on the long term effects following exposures to halogenated hydrocarbons. In addition, her research activities involve the study of drug metabolism and nuclear hormone receptors. Her teaching activities (to dental, medical, graduate and undergraduate students), encompass the disciplines of toxicology and pharmacology. The focus here is understanding how exposures to certain chemicals (drugs or toxicants) elicit specific effects resulting in either therapeutic benefit or damage to certain tissues and how that impacts overall health.

This Arkansas based expert earned her BS from the University of Arkansas and a doctoral degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. An expert in the health effects of organic solvents, she began her career with an EPA-funded Immunotoxicology fellowship at the Arkansas Children's Research Institute. Her research is focused on describing how trichloroethylene (TCE) promotes immunotoxicity and neurotoxicity following developmental exposure.

This highly qualified expert is specialized in the color and cosmetics chemistry with a deep understanding of formulation, toxicology, microbiology, and the safety requirements of products within his field. He spent 34 years with the Food and Drug Administration where he held a number of positions including serving as the chief of color technology, deputy director of color and cosmetics, and director of applied research and safety assessment at CFSAN. He also served as the director of cosmetic chemistry at The Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association and as the executive vice president of science at The Personal Care Products Council. Currently, this expert is an independent advisor of a consulting group in Virginia.
