This qualified expert has nearly 25 years of experience in nephrology. He received his BS in metallurgical engineering and materials science from Carnegie Mellon University before earning his MD from the University of Colorado. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver and his fellowship in renal diseases and hypertension at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. This expert is board certified in internal medicine and nephrology and hypertension. He began his career as a clinical nephrologist for Colorado Kidney Associates. He then worked as an electronic medical records consultant for companies like Kaiser Permanente before becoming an assistant professor of medicine in the division of renal diseases and hypertension at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. Prior to joining academia, he worked for E. I. duPont de Nemours, Conoco, Ethyl, and Kraft where he gained extensive experience in chemical processes that involved alternatives to CFCs, catalyst manufacture, agricultural & pharmaceutical intermediates processing, monomer recovery by depolymerization, ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis of cheese by-products, electromembrane processes, bioethanol production, and numerous food processing operations. He holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University and a doctoral degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma.
