This qualified expert has over 20 years of experience in exercise science and athletic training. He earned his BS in exercise science from Central Washington University and his MS in human movement from A.T. Still University School of Osteopathic Medicine. This expert holds multiple certifications including as a TPI level 2 fitness professional, strength and conditioning specialist, corrective exercise specialist, and level 2 nutrition coach. Additionally, he is active in his field as a member of the American College of Sports Medicine and has taken part in multiple professional development programs. Formerly, he served as a strength and conditioning coach at Central Washington University, a student athletic trainer and assistant power lifting coach at Auburn High School, and as a personal trainer at both Pure Fitness and Callaway Fitness. Currently, this expert is a karate instructor at a self defense school and a personal trainer at a fitness and community center located in Washington.

He was the Department Chair of Exercise Science & Sports Medicine at California Lutheran University and Director of the Human Performance Laboratory. He has written 11 books, over 25 book chapters, received over $¼ million in grants and contracts, published over 300 articles on sport performance, over 35 professional awards. He is a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine, certified as an Athlete Recovery Specialist, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Wilderness EMT, and has several certifications in emergency communications, emergency medicine, and search and rescue.

He earned his BS in animal science from Oklahoma State University and his MS in animal science and his PhD in Kinesiology from Texas A&M University. He is a member of various professional societies including the American College of Sports Medicine and the American Society for Testing and Materials. Formerly, he has served as the director of sports physiology at Texas Center for Sports Medicine, an assistant professor of exercise physiology at Indiana State University, the director of the human performance research laboratory and a professor at West Texas A&M University, and as an assistant dean at the College of Western Idaho.
