Furniture Expert Witnesses

This expert brings 28 years of furniture industry and seating experience (including development and catalog introduction of 250+ seating and table collections and 100+ custom designs), with hands-on expertise in all aspects of furniture development, collaborative design, frame construction, commercial use and hospitality environments, warranty, care and maintenance, user inspections, all types of field issues and product support. He spent many years working right alongside many of the world's premier independent product designers and factory resources, from the initial concept rendering stage, through the entire prototyping process, then coordinating with the component suppliers, conducting product testing in laboratory environments and then making sure the products are properly manufactured for their targeted markets, intended use and specific types of customers.

This expert is a designer and educator. He is a partner at a company dedicated to sustainable practices in design for production. He is principal of a design studio. He has been a member of the faculty at a RI design school in the Departments of Industrial Design, Interior Architecture and Furniture Design and previously served as interim dean of the Division of Architecture + Design. He is currently head of the Furniture Design department. His work has been shown in over 100 exhibitions, including 10 solo exhibitions, and is included in several private and public collections such as the Museum of Fine Arts Boston and the National Museum of American Art at the Smithsonian in Washington, DC. His furniture has been included in dozens of publications such as the New York Times and Newsweek. His work has also been featured in books and catalogs such as New American Furniture and Now I Sit Me Down.

For more than 25 years, this expert has been engaged in the appraisal of colonial to contemporary silver, furniture, ceramics, maps, and paintings. She graduated from the University of Texas and completed postgraduate studies with a Christies-associated program at the Royal College of Art in London. She has appraised collections for the Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Art, Marriott Bermuda, and the Bank of Butterfield; she has also worked closely with the Bermuda National Gallerys collections of furniture, European paintings, and the Bacardi Biennial. At present she conducts fine and decorative art appraisal for for an art appraisal firm in TX.
