West Virginia forensic pathology expert witnesses apply autopsy and medicolegal investigation expertise to clarify cause and manner of death. Many are former medical examiners or hospital pathologists with subspecialty training in forensic toxicology and injury interpretation. Their work reflects West Virginia’s rural care access and opioid-overdose burden. They evaluate fatal trauma, overdose, neglect, and disputed medical causation.
