I am happy to take on this case as I feel it requires a careful record review of the care of the first neurologist. The years during which the care took place are crucial as the literature and standard of care for MS diagnosis and treatment have changed over time. This necessity relates to verification of disease progression as well as the need to have the proper MS categorical diagnosis, such as remitting-relapsing v. one of the progressive forms. Additionally serial MRI's must be compiled and possibly re-examined / reviewed for an expert neuro-radiological opinion. In addition, neuropsychological testing may be necessary to demonstrate progression in the cognitive sphere.

About the expert

This expert has over 40 years of experience in the field of neurology. He earned his BA in biology from Amherst College and his MD from Boston University School of Medicine. He then completed an internship in internal medicine at Tufts University Medical Service, a residency in neurology at Boston University Hospital, and a fellowship in neurology at Boston University School of Medicine. Today, this expert is board certified in neurology and in neuromuscular and electrodiagnostic medicine. He remains active in his field as a member of several professional associations, such as the American Academy of Neurology and the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine. This expert previously was an assistant professor of neurology at the University of California, Davis, and the University of California, San Francisco, a neurologist at Naval Regional Medical Center, and an associate and acting chief of neurology at Martinez Veterans Administration Hospital. Currently, he is the principal at a clinical and forensic neurology practice in California.
