Idaho Expert Witnesses

This expert is an accomplished security and risk management consultant within the international major events environment. He has over 15 years of security planning and operational management for major events, including the Baku 2015 European Games, ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, 6 Olympic Games, 2010 G8 & G20 Summit (Toronto) and from his experience as an Australian Army Special Forces officer. He has been considered a leader in strategies and operational solutions to align and integrate Event Organizing Committees with Government Security Authorities, Police and the private security sector within complex, multi-agency, major event environments. He has led and managed multi-national project teams in Azerbaijan, USA, Greece, Italy, Canada and the UK, and has also worked on projects in Qatar & Russia. An accomplished technical writer, he has supported six Host City Bids as the lead writer for the Host City Bid Book (Safety and Security) including two successful Host City campaigns - Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic Games and the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup. He is a regular lecturer and contributing writer on Major Event Security and Event Risk Management and has been engaged as an Expert Witness on security and risk management. In 2015, he was invited to join the International Festivals and Events Association (IFEA) World Board of Directors.

This qualified expert of Physical Therapy obtained his BS in Biology and his MA in Kinesology from California State University, Chico and his DPT in Physical Therapy and his PhD in Rehabilitation Science from the University of Utah. He is Board Certified in Physical Therapy and is Certified in Basic Life Support. He is a member of multiple Physical Therapy Medical Associations and has 25+ Publications on Physical Therapy Research. He is currently a Physical Therapist for a Private Physical Therapy Group and an Assistant Professor for the Department of Physical Therapy at a University in Texas.

This expert has spent 35+ years in the mining industry, during which reclamation planning/execution has been a focal point. His experience includes mine and reclamation planning, mine and reclamation plan permitting by way of Environmental Impact Statements (EIS) under the Mineral Leasing Act (MLA) and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), implementation of best mining and reclamation practices, mine closure, and historic/legacy mine remediation. He began his own consulting business in 2016 and previously served as the Manager of Mining Projects and Remediation for Agrium USA. The expert is a registered Professional Engineer in Idaho and a member of the Society of Mining Engineers. He earned his B.S. in Mining Engineering from University of Utah and his MSHA trained.

This expert has over 25 years of experience in architecture. He received his BA and MS in architecture from Tulane University and is a licensed architect in eight states. He is also a Haag certified inspector in residential and commercial roofing as well as wind damage. He is active in his field as a member of the American Institute of Architects, a past president of AIA Idaho, and a member of the U.S. Green Building Council. Throughout his career, he has performed over 300 commercial and residential roof inspections for weather-caused damage including single-ply, metal, built-up, asphalt shingle and cedar shake roofs. Currently, he is a forensic architect with an architecture firm in Idaho.
