Pediatric Surgery Expert Witnesses in Michigan

This highly qualified and fellowship trained expert earned his BA from San Diego State and his MD from University of Chicago. After completing his internal medicine and pediatrics residency, he went on to train under a prestigious fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care at San Diego Children's Hospital. He is active in his field as a member of The Society for Critical Care Medicine and has authored over 30 publications including 5 books. Formerly, he served as Co-Medical Director of the PICU at University of Michigan. Currently, he holds an impressive array of both clinical and academic roles. He is an Attending Physician in the PICU and Director of Patient Safety and Quality Improvement at a major university hospital. In addition, he is also Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Communicable Diseases at a top tier medical school.

This highly qualified expert earned her BA in Chemistry from Hope College and her MD from Wayne State University. She then completed her Residency in Pediatrics at the State University of New York. She is a member of both the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Michigan State Medical Society. Formerly, she served as a private practice and locum tenens pediatrician throughout the Midwest. Currently, she is serving as an assistant clinical professor at a top Midwest medical school, as well as a locum tenens pediatrician at a small community hospital.

This expert is the head of the Section of Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery and the Co-Director of the Congenital Heart Center, at his university. His major clinical interests are in complex congenital heart defect repair. His research interests are in clinical and translational research and are supported by his role as the Co-Founder of the Michigan Congenital Heart Outcomes Research and Discovery (M-CHORD) program. He is the study chair of a 15-center randomized trial comparing techniques for the Norwood operation for hypoplastic left heart syndrome, the first multi-institutional prospective trial ever performed in congenital heart surgery. He is also the Program Director for his university's Congenital Cardiac Surgery Residency.
