Additionally, he was Columbia University's Law and Economics Fellow in 1981. Before coming to the US and entering academia, he served as a law clerk for a member of Canada's Supreme Court. He also served for five years on Quebec's Human Rights Commission. He sits on the advisory boards of several other think tanks. Currently, he is a Professor of Law at a VA university where he teaches Torts, Legal Ethics, Products Liability, and Jurisprudence. His research on torts and ethics issues is nationally known has published numerous books, chapters, and articles on legal ethics. Notably, he is co-author of two editions of West's Legal Ethics in a Nutshell and is sole author of two editions of West's Products Liability hornbook.
