He is the former director of the Spinal Cord Injury Service and the Regional Multiple Sclerosis Center of Excellence at St. Louis VA Medical Center and the former director of the Neuropathy Association Center of Excellence and the National MS Society Multiple Sclerosis Center at St Louis University where he was a tenured professor. Currently, he is the chair of a Neuroscience Institute, chief of the Neurology Service, Director of the MS and Hereditary Neuropathy Centers at a major academic medical center, and a professor at a major university.
